Transplant, Urology, Nephrology (TUN) Directorate at Beaumount Hospital, Dublin hosted their 7th Annual conference in the Hilton Airport Hotel on Friday 23th November.
There was a wide range of topics of interest to both medical and nursing staff, including the Irish Kidney Gene project, Nephron sparing transplantation and Haemodialysis statistics and service planning. Speakers included Prof Peter Conlon, Consultant Nephrologist at Beaumont Hospital, Grainne Lambe, Transplant Coordinator at Beaumont and Dr Liam Plant, Consultant Renal Physician at CUH.
The conference in it’s 7th year brings together renal nurses from all over the island of Ireland with 120 delegates in attendance this year. This was the first ever exhibit by Irish Holiday Dialysis having opened Ireland’s only dedicated facility for both domestic and international patients a little over a year ago. It was great to network with our colleagues and promote the availability holiday dialysis in Ireland. The IHD stand attracted extra attention due to our free pots of homemade jam and a TV showing images of our countryside location and clinic – all to a Kylie Minogue soundtrack!
